so, the 50's thing at my grandma's assisted living place was hilarious! the dude who performed is, or was, apparently in a psychobilly band called The Reach Around Rodeo Clowns. !!! if only all those old people knew THAT. they provided better entertainment than i expected, for sure. he wasn't too bad, actually...until he got upstaged by a cool crazy old lady who left the festivities for a moment and re-emerged in a sombrero, bathrobe, and her oxygen tube, shaking her boo-tay. she totally ruled!
we mused about how sad the guy must've felt, knowing he was playing at an old folks home. we imagined him at the bar the night before, talking to his friends: "oh MAN, you would not BELIEVE what i have to do tomorrow...*heavy sigh*" he was bragging that he played with graham nash, van morrison, and the turtles (ooooooh, the TURTLES! that gets the chicks revved up, i'm sure). my, how far he's fallen....
anyhoo, me and my mom and grandma laughed our asses off the whole time at absolutely everything. thank goodness we all have the same ridiculous sense of humor...
