val kilmer likes to deface brooklyn, apparently.

hope everyone had a fabulous new year's!! i had an awesome time in nyc with matt and nawal. first we hung around brooklyn for a bit. we went to a cool little bar that allowed dogs and played really good tunes on the jukebox. then we went to a thai restaurant called sea that was really cool, and really delicious and not all that expensive. matt said they filmed "garden state" there, it's the restaurant zach braff works at in the beginning. below you will see me sitting on a swing in front of a funky wall, waving like a dork.

then it was off to a party in the east village, which was very nice indeed. the people who had the party had a freakin' nice house, man...and the party was full of nice people, good munchies, heineken on tap (yay!), and some other fun things. at around 10 p.m. we were like, "whoah, i guess we should go to the black crowes show, eh?" so we took a cab to madison square garden, and rang in the new year with tons and tons of people. it was a really good time; the vibe was good, the music was good (they played "wiser time," which made me happy. "seeing things" was good, too)... and at midnight we watched the ball drop on the big screen and the garden exploded in confetti! yay! all these people crowded on stage with the band, and i saw kate hudson kiss her man, and we think goldie hawn and kurt russell were up there, too, but it was hard to tell from our vantage point. at any rate, there was a blonde in a tight blue dress hamming it up and shaking her booty for the crowd and people were cheering like crazy, so i think it was her. it was cool because when it was midnight, chris and i kissed to ring in the new year, and i turned around and the whole place was full of confetti! like, *BAM*!

it was a great way to start off the new year, without a doubt! oh, and best of all, we completely missed trey anastasio! woo-hoo! anyway, we got back to matt's pad at around 3, hung out for a teeny bit, and then went face down. woke up, got coffee, drove home, and home is where i stayed for the next day and a half. i'm still not feeling 100% into actually, like, working and doing regular life things.
oh well.

here is what some other people that were at the show have to say:
