why oh why do i bother to watch award shows? i am always bored silly, yet i always watch them. although i must say that last night had a few winners that i enjoy. for example, steve carell. i heart him so. and joaquin phoenix. he really deserved to win. plus he looked totally cute. i don't even know who he was up against; i tuned out during anthony hopkins and when i checked back joaquin was up there, winning and stuff. oh well! i was glad none of those tired old "desperate housewives" won anything...or those "designing women," as chris accidentally called them. ha! that was funny. i was like, "ummm, no honey, it's not 1987..." oh yes, and philip seymour hoffman won for "capote." ahhhhh, i love him, too. a whole lot. he's just awesome. it was nice to see johnny depp ... i really enjoy him when he's not being a pirate.
the e! red carpet action was mildly entertaining. they got rid of star jones (thank GOD) and kathy griffin (BOOOO!), and this time had isaac mizrahi and ryan seacrest. the whole night was riddled with what were, in my opinion, not-so-thinly veiled references to ryan's sexuality. that isaac. he's such a bitch.
