boo bees.

only about a week to wait for the first raconteurs single! wheeee!

digital rectal exam simulator. nice. (via boingboing)

"they're all a bunch of whores." you just may be right, lou.

new clinic downloads!

ummm, hello, strokes? why no philly? you no like us anymore? we've been good to you! *sigh* i tried to get the presale hammerstein tix the other day, but they sold out in like 2.5 seconds. you know, i just love when you sign up for a band's email list - or, in the strokes case, paid $$$ at the inception of their fan club so you could get in on the presales and all the other good stuff - and then every blog on earth decides to post the username and password. so lame. anyhoo, the real tickets go on sale friday, which will sell out in 1.3 seconds, so part of me doesn't even want to bother. also, going to new york, while lots of fun, is just so infinitely more expensive than a local show, what with gas, food, lodging, etc. wah. ok, i'll stop whining now.

i love this pic of leif garrett. (found on rosie's blog) my sister had this very same picture and i remember it being up on her bedroom wall. she was all about leif and shaun cassidy. and all those other non-threatening, blonde, feathery boys...

hey, why don't you buy this girl's breast art for your valentine this year? (it's safe for work) heh. "boo bees."

update: it's an hour later, and ever since i typed "boo bees" i have had this song in my head. ha, it's got the worst lyrics EVER! i think that must be my fave gilligan episode, by far. along with the one with that great big huge giant spider in the cave. that one was a childhood favorite.

That Lou Reed, he's such a recalcitrant, outspoken fellow! But he's probably right about the whoring aspect of the film industry. Good for him for calling it like he sees it!

There is a really great moment of Canadian radio, when the host of the Saturday morning CBC show Go called up Lou Reed in his New York loft. Lou seemed to have just woken up, and talked like he had his mouth full of morning toast, but it was a great interview. Brent Branbury really got the rockster to open up, which seems like it would be a difficult feat to me. They talked for quite a while about electric cello feedback.

I had fogotten about the giant spide episode of Gilligan. That was a good one!

ahhh, yes. lou. i saw him over the summer. that was my first time seeing him, and while it was great to be a few feet away from him, it was not the ideal venue (i.e. it was still light out, it was outside, in the rain, in atlanta). then there was technical trouble on top of that, and lou was totally pissed off. but i do love him so.

i remember taping an interview a local radio station did with him years ago when "songs for drella" was released, and all i remember about it is that he said he only sleeps like 2 or 3 hours a night, waking up at 4 or 5 am, and that it drove his girlfriend crazy.
