so old, so tired

i'm going to try to stay up late tonight so i can catch beck on letterman, and gear up for the show this weekend. i don't know how long i'll make it, though. these days i'm a mess if i stay up past midnight during the work week. the other night i was watching a movie and fell asleep, without warning, with 5 minutes left to go. 5 stinking minutes! and it was a hitchcock movie, therefore those last 5 minutes were really important. bah. that happens more and more to me these days. i have no idea i'm even about to fall asleep. just *BAM* i'm out. so lame...or maybe i have narcolepsy. i didn't even think of that...

so anyway, yeah. beck. good 'ol beck. i'm happy to be seeing him again, it's been over 2 years . should be good; in cleveland he sounds like he's still rockin' it like he always does:

Beck was equally comfortable singing or rapping. He also played a range of instruments, including acoustic and electric guitars, harmonica, banjo, turntables and harmonium.

He channeled Bob Dylan for the folk-flavored "Pay No Mind (Snoozer)." Later, Beck turned in his best Prince imitation to the soulful tune of "Mixed Bizness."

A few bars of Queen's "We Will Rock You" found their way into "The Golden Age," a twilight ballad.

"I don't know where this is going," Beck said. "I like it, though."
