my freaky, freaky dream

last night i had the most disturbing dream of all time. i was walking through a hospital with my boss (not rachel, who i talk about all the time, but the head of our department) and for some reason we were talking about cancer. he was all like, "well, do you want to go to the cancer ward?" i said, "sure!" so we went to the cancer ward, and i had a cup of coffee in my hand. there were all these crazy hoses and clamps and machines hooked up to the walls. people were attached to these machines, and the clamps were clamping them down and they were all screaming, and the hoses were jutting out this thick, pasty, white goo into their bodies from every orifice. like, their eyes, their mouths, etc. all the people had hospital gowns on, and dark circles under their eyes and rotting skin. when a person was finished with one of the machines, the whole wall would shift down and the next person would end up there, like an assembly line. it was like a long corridor with crazy evil hoses every few feet. throughout the entire thing these poor people were secreting this weird pink-colored substance that was thick and sticky and gooey, and it was everywhere. it got in my coffee cup, in my hair, everywhere.

my boss was laughing the entire time.

according to some dream dictionary: To dream that someone has cancer, indicates that you need to change your negative way of thinking before it creates a cancer in you. Start being more positive.

To see your boss in your dream may indicate your over-involvement or obsession with your work. Negatively, the boss in your dream may symbolize your limitations and lack of freedom/originality.

To dream that you are drinking or need your coffee, suggests that you should gain some insight and knowledge before making a decision or tackling some project/relationship. You may be acting too hasty and need to slow down. Alternatively, it may imply a need for you to change your routine.

"But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word 'artist.'"

when i got to work this morning, there were 2 fire trucks in the parking lot and everyone was standing outside. unfortunately, the place didn't burn down. in other news, i watched "american psycho" last night before bed, and dreamt that i was raped in one of the aisles of wal-mart. i don't know what was more frightening--the fact that i was attacked, or the fact that i was hanging out at wal-mart...the guy in my dream looked NOTHING like christian bale, either. he looked kinda like albert brooks. so, i am not off to a good start today. and now i have to go return some video tapes.

show me that smile again

so, last night i had a very long and involved dream about kirk cameron. my cat gertie and i were staying with him and his wife, for some reason, and i picked up a tabloid magazine and there were all these pictures of him in there, as a teenager, in VERY compromising positons. i will spare you the details. so i showed them to him, and he got ALL WEIRD and told me i had to leave the house while he took a "long, cold shower." ?!?!?!?
on my way out the door, i saw his wife in the kitchen. (his wife, by the way, was this chick that my boyfriend of like 13 years ago went out with a few years after me.) anyway, they had this AMAZING kitchen cabinet set-up that i have never seen in real-life before...it was like a huge armoire with these drawer things to pull out, and that's where all the stuff was stored...it was carved in this really cool vintage-looking pattern...i think i need to draw this and have someone custom-make it for me! and i have kirk cameron's fake wife that only exists in my subconscious to thank for it.

on a completely unrelated note, chris and i saw this video the other day and were all kinds of impressed. i think you will be, too. i have no idea how old it is (at least a month or two), but i'm not exactly, you know, "with it" and stuff when it comes to the latest videos.

the crazy week of bob continues!

so, not only did i get "modern times" on vinyl yesterday (complete with bonus cd of one of bob's theme time radio hour shows--this one was "baseball") but i got the new rolling stone with bob on the cover, and this morning i downloaded the new album on iTunes and got my ticketmaster pre-sale password code thing. it is ALL ABOUT THE BOB THIS WEEK. so, dear readers, i apologize to all of you that are tired of hearing about bob. but, what are ya gonna do. he's totally ruling my life right now.

here's another thing i can talk about: nightmares. i have been having the craziest nightmares for the past few weeks now. i am chalking it up to being stressed out about the house and the move and stuff (i don't do well with "big life changes"--i'm a worrier), but i really wish they would go away. i mean, these are the kind that you spring up in bed, screaming and not knowing what is going on.

last night my nightmare was that someone cut up my cat's face, squished her insides, choked her with a ribbon, and she died in my arms. i mean, ?!?!?!? it was HORRIBLE! i woke up, crying, and gertie was sleeping at my feet like she always does. i picked her up and put her on my chest, and she purred and purred and stayed there for a long time. ugh, just horrible.

we are very glad to be in the house, though! we still have some painting to do, but it looks nice. i am really antsy to get stuff up on the walls and put my silly knick-knacks everywhere and give it some personality. curtains would be nice, too. neither of us feel like doing anything this week, after busting our butts for the past 6 weeks. so, we will just kind of chill out and slowly unpack this week, then friday go to upstate new york to see bob and hang out in woodstock. because, you know, this is the crazy week of bob.

i say "justin theroux" a lot in this post.

i'm assuming that this is a joke (or at least a jokester trying to gain illustrious youtube fame), but here it is anyway...

i think i see greg brady hanging out the window with a flashlight and a kazoo...

in other news, i had this really long, involved dream last night about justin theroux, who for some reason showed up at a family function (which was in a dank, gray, cubicle-ridden office space). my dad was there, and he thought that this justin theroux character was trying to steal me away from my man (hi honey! yes, you were in the dream, too). my dad would go into a blinding rage every time justin theroux tried to talk to me. yet he didn't make him leave, he just wanted us to stay away from each other. so, i changed my outfit before dinner, and my dad thought i was trying to woo justin theroux or something, and he picked him up and threw him out a window. ?!?!? ha, so odd...i remember the outfit i put on, too: a pair of those black beatniky/80's madonna-type leggings, and a weird skirt on top that was all different lengths and had strings hanging from it (it kind of looked like it was made from a bunch of neckties--it also made my ass look HUGE), and a big 'ol white man's shirt. and i put a great big bow in my hair. yes, if an emsemble like that wouldn't woo any man, i don't know what will. ?!?!?

my crazy-ass dream last night

i was on my way to an amusement park with some people, not sure who, and i went into this really 70's looking house to pick up some of the people that were going to go with us. while we were there, sitting at the dining room table waiting for them, eating chips, the cops showed up and told us that a murder had taken place while were were in there. we weren't suspects, but the cops warned us that if we left, we'd have to go past the downstairs area, where 3 of the bodies were. and it was apparently really gruesome. they were still looking for the mom, who was upstairs. they assumed she was killed, too. so, the cops eventually started leading people out of the house so they could properly conduct their investigation. they led ALL kinds of people out, parading past us...an old couple, a freaking CLOWN...i said, "the clown did it! it was the clown!!!" everyone was crying and yelling "WHY? WHY?!?!?" then the place began to smell, and i could smell this disgusting odor even in my dream. yuck. i woke up with my cat nipping at my face, and i was all weirded out.

eeeew. perhaps i shouldn't have watched "the texas chainsaw massacre" before bed last night...
