I'M the sassiest girl in america, dammit!

i got 'em all right! woo!

in other zombie news...

and in owl puke news...

i love the guy on the right in this picture...

here's some advice thurston moore gave sassy readers back in the day. i love sassy. i actually just got this book, and it's awesome. i wish i still had all my old sassys...and actually, i was mentioned in sassy once, because i wrote christina kelly a letter saying i didn't think it was right for her to make fun of michael hutchence because he chopped all his hair off and wore dork glasses and a green plaid suit at the grammys back in 1989. true story. and i can't believe i'm admitting it. i remember my best friend called me because she just got her sassy in the mail and was like, "okay, are you sitting down?!?" hahaha. i was actually really embarrassed at the time. but now i'm all like, "i was totally in sassy!!!" (you also have to say it like phil hartman did on those old snl skits...SASSS-AAAY!)

"well, let's see what this thing can do, russell."

i'm baaaaaaack...

ahhhh. so, florida was kinda nice. aside from all of the working and the weird things i kept finding on my bedspread in my hotel room, that is. like, a dried-up piece of pasta one day, a leaf the next. ?!?!? eww. anyway, i did manage to get some sun, eat some good food, and drink some good drinks. i went in this crazy slingshot/bungee jumping thing that was pretty cool. also went to this place which was so, so, SO FUN! i also caught an acoustic performance by sean lennon one morning on the telly and it was pretty good. he has a nice voice. i've heard a few songs here and there, but this performance stopped me dead in my tracks, and i just stood there, watching. very very good. wonder what julian's up to these days? i used to love him, too, back in the "valotte" days.

in other news, i've been listening to gram psychotically all day, specifically the album pictured. even more specifically, this song over and over again. it's so amazing. AND this guy i know who works part time at hot topic got me this for only $11 with his crazy discount! ANNNNND i got me my dylan tickets (show # 18). not bad for a wednesday.

you'll die laughing!!! or maybe just chuckle a little.

ok all you crazy girls, turns out you were right. anorexia is healthy and fine. starve away!

katie holmes should NOT be more famous than walter matthau. period.

so this is why bill wyman left the stones...to devote all of his time and energy into this. smart move.

and with that, i'm afraid i must leave you for several days. i'm going to swinging orlando on business. hey, at least it will be warm...?

i wanna eat your brains and gain your knowledge

i saw "grindhouse" again today. i thought "death proof" was definitely better the second time around. i was way, way into it. f the naysayers, they just don't get it. but i definitely fall into the "fanboy" category every single article mentions (even though i am not, in fact, a boy). bah, who cares. i love my QT and always will.

We have art in order not to die of the truth.

one of my favorite things in the whole world: 70's cookbooks.

monoface. fun-ish and freaky-ish.

awww. i won't make a snarky comment.

the 50 worst songs ever. is the #1 song REALLY that bad? i mean, it is, but there were worse moments than that song...well, okay. it's pretty bad. but for the record, i will admit to appreciating #s 16, 23, 26 (hey, when you see it in "apocalypse now," it's good), 27 (solely because of GOB), 34 (only because of the blurb they wrote about it. i was like, "i still have no idea what that song is!" and then i listened to it and laughed), and 42. #42 has no business being on there, at all.

i love this photo.

the tarantino archives got hacked or the site crashed or something. i feel bad. it was a really great site, The Man Himself even granted an interview to the guy who runs it, and admitted that he checked the site often to check out "the temperature" of what his fans where thinking about things. definitely a great QT site.

i'm thinking...

...it was the ghost of johnny cash that started the fire, because he didn't want barry gibb to be living there.

i think this is just silly. i mean, hey. i like jim morrison as much as the next guy, but i also like him as a derelict.

hey, new white stripes june 19th ! i like the album cover. remember why you love the white stripes so much here.

GRINDHOUSE

run, do not walk, to the theater and see this. it's just so great; i had so much fun. i will most definitely be seeing this again while it's still in theaters. "planet terror" is really, really goopy and disgusting with wonderfully cheesy dialogue and about 10 subplots and some totally hilarious moments (especially the "missing reel"). "death proof" has that classic tarantino dialogue, but also is successful at being a movie that takes forever to get started (as many of those 70's films he pays homage to are apt to do) with seriously one of the best car chases ever filmed. and the ending was awesome. kurt russell kicked ass. those chicks kicked ass. the whole experience kicked ass. the fake trailers are really, really, really great, too. i think my favorite was "don't," because it made me laugh hysterically (and i found out later that it was narrated by will arnett). i'm also sure you will enjoy "thanksgiving," directed by eli roth. warning: not safe for work. it may not be safe for most people anywhere. :)

again: see this in the theater; don't wait for it to come out on dvd. the fun cinema experience it what it's all about.

"there's nothing more soul-crushing than..."

...than WHAT?! goldenfiddle has the answer*--the full text of that anthem magazine article on justin theroux that i mentioned a while back. i've said it before, and i'll say it again: i do like me some justin theroux.

*if you're too lazy to bother, the answer is, "watching 70's porn."

today's post featuring a photo of jason schwartzman and zooey deschanel playing music together, just because

i bet this sofa STILL looks great. thanks, plastic slipcovers!

i remember having to "write sentences." in middle school i had to write "i will not chew gum in class" and i separated the "cl" from the "ass" and i thought i was so cool by doing that.

meow meow meow meow meow

name that hair metal band. i got every single one right. that either makes me really really cool, or really really lame.

5 minutes to kill (yourself). (my lowest time was 2:33. woo! there's a lot of fun ways to die in the men's room.)

i need this on a shirt, so i can wear it every single day.
